Full Job Description

Smithridge Healthcare is a temporary staffing provider working with nursing homes and care homes in Shropshire to ensure that they are always fully staffed.

We understand how important making a difference to the lives of others is and that is why we are looking for passionate, caring, empathetic individuals who want to help others lives their lives to the full.

We work closely with our nursing home and care homes to ensure all of their shifts are always fully staffed and we listen closely to their needs to ensure we only match the most suitable carers to their shifts.

You will be for vulnerable adults living with conditions such as; Dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Mental Health Conditions, Challenging Behaviours, Epilepsy. We also care for people living with Learning and/or Physical Disabilities such as; loss of mobility, speech/sight impairments, Autism or Down's Syndrome. There are a few other care categories e.g. end of life care & cancer care.

As a Healthcare Assistant you will be expected to perform the below daily duties;
- Use Manual Handling equipment safely and correctly
- Deliver personal care to male and female residents (bathing, showering, washing, changing incontinence pads, dressing, oral care, heair care, nail care)
- Assist in food & drink preparation and serving meals
- Assist in feeding & hydrating residents
- Complete all necessary documentation on shift
- Engage residents in individual and group activities
- Provide physical & emotional support to resident
- General housekeeping responsibilities (changing beds, making beds, polishing, mopping, tidying up, laundry)
- Promote independence where possible
- Other duties when needed/asked

  • Have got 6 months UK care experience

  • Currently live in the UK

  • Are a pro-active, passionate and patient carer
