Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Relief HGV Class 2 Driver / Meat Porter to join our busy and highly successful abattoir.
The ideal candidate will hold a clean driving licence (HGV Class 2) and have relevant previous experience.
The successful candidate will be required to transport meat to the Company's clients across a geographical location covering the North East and North Yorkshire. You will be responsible for carrying out any vehicle checks prior to the vehicle leaving the yard and for using a tachograph chart correctly where necessary.
You will have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, promoting a favourable image of the Company at all times.
You will be required to load / unload the vehicle in a safe manner, ensuring hygiene levels remain a priority at all times. The loading / unloading does require physical, manual lifting, and carrying sides of meat carcasses, so you must be comfortable working in this type of environment. You will also be required to work inside the base plant preparing meat orders ready for delivery.
You will have the ability to effectively navigate to the required locations and will ensure the safety of yourself and other road users remain of paramount importance.
Working hours are Monday to Friday 6am to 3pm (45 hours)
