A Vacancy at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.

An opportunity for a secondment or a fixed term 12 month contract within the CIU pacing team. The CIU provides a wide range of invasive and non invasive services.

We operate from 3 main hospitals - FGH, RLI and WGH, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom, GP practices and QVC and Ulverston Health Centre.

FGH and RLI have a range of general hospital services with Emergency care and critical/ coronary units and various Consultant led services.

WGH provides a range of general hospital service, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can hep with a range of non life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostic, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In additional, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

Our community services for adults are provided in peoples homes, community centres, clinics, GP practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care, advice and support.

Delivery of the technical services within their specialist areas Angiography, IABP, device implantation including device clinics. Provide non-routine, specialist and advanced diagnostic investigations in Cardiology. Specialist knowledge and interpretation skills to provide full in-depth reports and analysis in a variety of clinical settings. Judgment to assess clinical information and act upon this if necessary liaising with Clinical staff. Monitoring the appropriateness of referrals, obtaining information relevant to patient care, interpreting and reporting of clinical findings and ensuring appropriate discharge or ongoing care. Use a variety of diagnostic equipment e.g. Cardiac Ultrasound, Haemodynamic monitoring, which requires complex hand eye coordination over a prolonged period of time, requiring intense concentration, generating computerized information for technical reporting. Responsible for the safe use of expensive, highly complex equipment. This includes quality control,
general maintenance and fault finding, adhering to departmental policies.
