What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?

Provide strategic business partnership to the Area Teams on People & Culture topics, to support the business transformation and the achievement of the Company Strategic Leadership Agenda.

What is the direct impact of this role on the team or organization?

Develop and update the understanding on capabilities required to meet the Company\'s strategic objectives. Partner with the business to ensure that those capabilities are supplied in the most effective and efficient manner, managing legal and compliance risks as required. Support the ongoing review of ways of working to ensure high levels of productivity and a positive employee experience, contributing to attraction and retention of key talent across the organisation.

Head of Talent, Culture and Inclusion, UK Employment Law Team, GBS, IDT, Finance teams

External - Recruitment agencies

Reports to: Head of HR, UK & Ireland; dotted reporting line to WE Head of Talent, Culture and Inclusion

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • Partner with the WE Area Functional Leadership Teams on capabilities and organisational design requirements and on ways of working to deliver the Company\'s strategic agenda. Provide data-driven insights to support decision making.

  • Contribute to the development of WE HR strategy, in cooperation with Functional HR Business Partners and Cluster Heads of HR from across WE.

  • Manage the assessment of potential, succession & career planning (TRM) process at a DRBU Functional level and provide relevant data for the Area TRM.

  • Coordinate the Above Market Talent Agenda, aimed at identifying preferred candidates for available positions across Area Functions by reference to talent pools and succession plans agreed at TRM level.

  • Partner with business on all Organisational design changes ensuring seamless change management.

  • Support and guide managers by providing consistent and accurate advice on HR related issues requiring the interpretation and implementation of legislation and internal company policies and procedures.

  • Drive and coordinate the annual performance review process to ensure that individual performance objectives are aligned to the business and people objectives for all employees. This includes the co-ordination of performance review meetings ensuring full adherence to deadlines.

  • Develop and implement Company policies and procedures, to ensure effective employee relations, which also support the organisation\'s strategy and facilitate an empowered culture.

  • Provide appropriate advice and counselling to all staff groups to maximise employee effectiveness. This role requires proactive management of employee under-performance in conjunction with line managers.

  • Support line managers and GBS (HR Shared Service centre: \xe2\x80\x9cGlobal Business Services\xe2\x80\x9d HR) to ensure the timely and cost-effective recruitment and selection of internal and external candidates. Support them with the proactive management of sickness absence (short and long term), and any other employee relations issues, providing advice and support in line with company policies and procedures.

  • Ensure accurate and timely headcount and Employment Costs reporting and forecasting in line with Company processes, including managing the impact on employment cost budgeting. Coordinate the process at WE level in coordination with Area Finance.

  • Manage the preparation of the annual salary and bonus review process for all groups of staff ensuring that reviews are conducted on time and within budget. Participate in survey processes that provide relevant and timely decision support data for the company review.

  • Support and/or deputise for the Head of HR UK&I / WE Head of Talent, Culture and Inclusion to ensure effective continuity of key activities wherever necessary.

  • Have you used HR data and insights to support strategic decision making on People & Culture topics?

  • Are you familiar with the acquisition of Digital, eCommerce, CRM competencies and the upskilling of an organisation to integrate those and other future fit capabilities?


  • ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Strong generalist HR experience, preferably in large functions or Head of HR experience in small companies with a focus on hiring and developing the best talent:

  • Good knowledge of modern sourcing & assessment techniques, recruitment and selection process, including excellent interviewing skills

  • Solid understanding and application of learning & development principles


  • Excellent communication/influencing/senior engagement skills to drive business transformation

  • Exceptional listening skills and ability to relate to, influence, and coach employees of all levels in the organization


  • Intellectual curiosity to bring new insights to the business, preferably in a multicultural environment for better decision making

  • Ability to work independently, as an active member of both business and HR teams


  • CIPD qualified

  • Proficient in written and spoken English

  • Competent user of Microsoft tools. SAP and/or Success Factors experience would be desirable but not essential


  • In-depth knowledge of UK employment law and HR policies and procedures
