"We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to support the local delivery of a high-performance culture at one of our largest and most complex Sites, Harwell. You will work closely within a team of HRBPs based elsewhere in the Country, but will need to be able to work independently, providing hands on and strategic input, insight and advice on people related issues. Key Deliverables

  • Support the organisation's Leadership Teams with the appropriate tools and knowledge to effectively manage and develop their employees in line with business needs, the people plan and HR processes, e.g. resource/workforce planning, reward, learning and development, performance, absence and talent management.

  • Provide professional HR advice and coaching to line managers and staff on a broad range of HR processes, cases and issues.

  • Coach line managers to manage complex and difficult HR processes, cases and HR issues.

  • Coordinate and contribute to the development of an integrated resource and talent management plan to agreed standards, to address shortfalls in succession plans and vulnerabilities ensuring compliance with the Management of Change arrangements.

  • Support partnership working, lead on resolving employee relations issues within your groups and advise managers, employees and unions on the resolution of those issues. Coach managers and employees in understanding employee relations policies and practices.

  • Collaborate with external counterparts, communities of practice and formal bodies to understand emerging/new directions and their relevance to the company.

    Higher Education qualification equivalent to level 4/5 (England and Wales) and level 7/8 (Scotland) - e.g. HNC/HND (Essential)

  • MCIPD or relevant vocational qualification (Essential)

  • Relevant HR experience and demonstrable delivery across a broad range of HR areas. (Essential)

  • Experience of contributing to process improvement that has brought real benefits to individuals and the organisation. (Essential)

  • A strong understanding of relevant current employment law and knows what the organisation needs to do to mitigate risk. (Essential)

  • Experience of change management within a unionised organisation. (Desirable)

  • Experience of Team Leadership. (Desirable)

    Nuclear Restoration Services Limited (NRS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). NRS is responsible for decommissioning first generation nuclear power stations Berkeley, Bradwell, Chapelcross, Dungeness A, Hinkley Point A, Hunterston A, Oldbury, Sizewell A, Trawsfynydd and Wylfa, and research sites Harwell and Winfrith. NRS is also responsible for electricity generation at hydroelectric plant Maentwrog. As a division of NRS, NRS Dounreay is responsible for the clean-up and demolition of the former centre of fast reactor research and development.

  • Flexible working - where possible.

  • The equivalent of 25 days (185 hours per year) annual leave plus Public Holidays (59.2 hours per year). This increases by 2 days (14.8 hours per year) annual leave after two full calendar years of service (as at 5th January in the leave year) , and an additional 3 days (22.2 hours per year) annual leave after five full calendar years of service (as at 5th January in the leave year). You also have the option to buy or sell the equivalent of 5 days (37 hours) annual leave each year (available in specific windows for the following holiday year). For the purpose of assessing an employee's annual leave entitlement, a day means seven and two fifths (7.4) hours. A pro rata entitlement will apply for part time workers.
