Full Job Description

The HR Officer will be supporting the Groups HR Seniors in work force development providing a comprehensive day-to-day Human Resources service to meet the needs of the HICA Group and staff in an effective and professional manner., Reporting into the HR Senior team, you will provide key HR and administration services on a day to day basis, whilst also providing first line HR support to managers, advising them on a range of topics.

The HR Officer will be responsible for collating and presenting data as requested in agreed format, overseeing the long-term sickness absence process across the business, supporting managers with welfare meetings and making referrals to the Company's Occupational Health Partner where necessary. You will understand all administrative processes within the HR Office and assist the administrative team by checking letters being sent out for accuracy and detail!,

  • To provide 1st line support & information, advising managers on a range of staffing issues, ensuring that HICA policies and standards, as well as terms and conditions of employment are adhered to.

  • You will provide HR and administration services on a day to day basis, advising managers on employee relations cases and long term sick.

  • You will provide support to the Recruitment & HR Coordinator ensuring the team of administrators delivers against recruitment needs and to maintain strong service levels across all core HR workstreams/systems.

  • Inputting of data & maintenance of the new HR system - UKG. Provide leading support and coaching to the group managers, resolving any issues reported in a timely manner. Escalating any unresolved queries appropriately to the Senior HR Team and/or UKG.

  • To provide assistance with the extraction and manipulation of data from HICAs systems

  • Ensure compliance with any legal requirements such as in respect of Borders & Immigration (LRTW). Provide a system report on a monthly basis to the Group Head of HR and report/escalate any LRTW's due to expire to the relevant manager and HR Advisor in a timely manner.

  • Lead in the maintenance of HAPI (benefit portal) creating medium term plans and relevant content ensuring HAPI is used to its full potential.

  • To undertake ad hoc project work as directed by the Group Head of HR & Senior HR Team.

  • The postholder will have to manage a complex, varied, sometimes conflicting workload where priorities may change on a daily basis due to workforce issues.

    Experience working in a similar role as a HR Assistant or Officer is essential.

  • Good knowledge of HR employment law.

  • Experience providing 1st line support.

  • Experience advising on low level ER cases.

  • Highly organised and able to work independently.

  • Excellent time management skills.

  • A flexible and creative thinker

  • Experience of working in a recruitment-based role delivering volume roles is desirable.

  • The role may also involve travel so ideally the candidate will be a car driver with access to a vehicle.

  • Salary £27,000 per annum
