HV Substation Design Engineer

Morrison Electricity Transmission (MESET) is recruiting for a Senior HV Substation Design Engineer to join our growing design team in the UK.

As a/the LDE you will be part of our Transmission Design Team who are responsible for all permanent and temporary works design support on contracts for NG, SSE, SPEN and the full range of UK DNOs.

As the Lead Design Engineer your responsibilities will include:

• To produce an effective electrical substation design including primary and earthing (also secondary) design and to provide technical support to Design Engineers, Project Engineers, Site Engineers, Bids team and clients.


• To providing technical support to Design Engineers, Project Engineers, Site Engineers, and clients.


• To liaise closely with the Design Delivery Manager - Substations, other Senior Design Engineers and internal/external customers ensuring project, programme and budgetary controls at all times.
  
  B.Eng or BSc in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering, with honours; or HND plus relevant experience


• Sufficient experience on substation electrical design with considerable knowledge of National Grid specifications, British Standards, and other UK TNO and DNO design standards


• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Power Transmission & Distribution sector or similar


• Have the ability to self-learn the use of any engineering software relevant to substation electrical design


• Knowledge (preview drawings as a minimum) in using 2D CAD software (ideally Autodesk products)
