Neighbourhood Services have a vacancy for an Improvement Works Manager within the Highways Team

The successful candidate will have exceptional knowledge of construction schemes upon the public highway, Civils and Resurfacing works.
The successful candidate will join our team focusing on delivering these improvements to continue to ensure that BCP is a Cleaner, Greener and Safer place for residents and visitors.

The Team Manager will be responsible for and play an active role in providing support and advice to the multi-skilled Highway team operating across the BCP Council conurbation.

There will be plenty of opportunities to develop your own skills and contribute to the direction of Strategies, Policies, and their delivery.

You should be customer focused and need to have proven experience of being able to work to deadlines and have an organised approach to work planning and prioritisation.
You will need to be a confident and clear communicator (both written and verbal) with a proven record of responding to varied customer enquiries and managing expectations from Members of the public, Local Councillors, Members of Parliament, Colleagues from other service units etc

As part of the management team, you will also be required to maintain records and have a good working knowledge of the Microsoft office suite of programmes and help to make informed decisions regarding the future planning of smaller highway works and improvement schemes.

As a result of the creation of BCP Council in 2019, we are working on simplifying our terms and conditions of service and will be creating a single pay structure which is to be applicable for all employees.
