Full Job Description

Responsible For: Management of Senior Income & Referrals Officer & Income and Referrals Officers, We are seeking a professional individual with extensive experience of Rent Collection to manage our newly formed Income and Referral team; this team sits within out Housing Services department and will focus on working with and coordinating our team of Housing Officers with weekly rent and service charge collection responsibilities. A key part of this role will also involve actively leading on complex case work and high-level rent arrears.

EHSL has an ambitious but achievable goal of gaining a rent collection rate of 99% and you will play a key role in providing a high quality service to achieve this.

You will also manage the provision of Referrals and Allocations. From overseeing the initial viewing of a property by a prospective tenant and ensuring Housing Benefit is applied for successfully to the tenant giving notice and arranging the void.

We are looking for someone with 2 plus years' experience of managing a team and has a comprehensive understanding of rent collection, arrears management and associated issues. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be confident in proactively engaging with a broad range of partners, and driving actions to ensure income for the organisation is maximised.

Experience and detailed working understanding of Housing Law, Possession and eviction process and financial inclusion is essential. You will need to have a comprehensive understanding of supporting officers to take a holistic view of debt and to ensure that appropriate support is provided to those that need it.

You should be confident, forward thinking and committed to delivery of excellent services. You also need to be able to manage a team effectively, leading your team by example and work collaboratively internally and externally

You will also be responsible for managing the team's performance and professional standards. Some team members may require support and guidance, while others may need assistance with time management. As a manager, you must be comfortable having difficult conversations with both your team and customers, while also being able to motivate and lead by example. Your accountability will extend to overseeing your team's performance and ensuring coverage during absences.

EHSL is a non-profit provider of supported housing to people with various support needs, including learning disabilities, mental health issues, autism, and other health and social care related needs. Services are located predominantly in London and surrounding counties, although the organisation also has services in the East and West Midlands, the East of England, Gloucestershire, Bristol and Wales. We currently have around 650 tenants in 130 buildings.

  • Salary: £38,500 per annum

    Annual Leave: 25 Days per annum, plus your Birthday off and all Bank holidays.
