Full Job Description

Here at Microlise, we have an exciting opportunity for an Indirect Buyer! Working as part of the Procurement function, you will be responsible for the execution and delivery of strategic procurement across a range of indirect categories. Whilst maintaining relationships with existing accounts, you will be responsible for sourcing new suppliers and working with the Indirect Procurement Manager to manage spend within indirect categories.,

  • Support the implementation of a category procurement structure

  • Become embedded in stakeholder areas to offer commercial support

  • Manage stakeholder requests to improve value for money

  • Negotiate contracts both for renewals and new services

  • Develop strong relationships with key suppliers to improve supplier performance

  • Stay informed on market trends to be able to implement strategies around optimising spend and overall value for money

  • CIPS qualified or currently working towards

  • Ability to interact with senior leaders to promote the benefit of procurement involvement

  • Good working knowledge of IT packages including Microsoft and EPR systems

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills

  • Self-starter who can work independently within the team structure and make justified decisions

  • Confident outlook and a positive attitude to deliver departmental targets

  • Able to deputise for the Procurement Manager if required


  • It would be desirable if you have:
  • Experience of IFS would be advantageous

  • Indirect procurement experience within a SaaS environment
