Full Job Description

We are seeking a talented Integration Engineer to join our Operations and Integration Team. As an Integration Engineer, you will play a crucial role in championing the Systems Engineering approach on Major Projects. Your responsibilities will include providing guidance and developing best practice techniques to support the application of the Business Management System to requirements management, design integration, and technical interfaces. You will be responsible for managing design integration between assets, elements, systems, and products, as well as overseeing technical interfaces throughout the project lifecycle.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare/update the Interface Management Plan.

  • Review/coordinate the Product Breakdown Structure and produce/update the System Interface Matrix.

  • Conduct regular Integration Workshops and Interface Review Meetings with Design Leads and Design Houses.

  • Liaise with BIM Coordinators to highlight spatial interfaces and constraints in the Federated Model.

  • Maintain the Interface Reference List as a tool for Interface Management and report on the status of interfaces to the Operations and Integration Manager.

  • Review Interface Agreement Forms and ensure compliance with the Interface Management Process.

  • Liaise with the Project Team to record assumptions, risks, and dependencies associated with integration, as required.

  • Ensure facility layout is optimized and meets User Requirements.

  • Assist with the planning and execution of Functional Activity Reviews.

  • Implement continuous improvement for the Interface Management Process through engagement with the Interface Management Working Group.

    Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent work experience.

  • Recognized by an industry/professional body, e.g., Chartered Engineer registered with Engineering Council, or working towards this status.

  • Experience applying a Systems Engineering approach.

  • Ability to operate throughout the design life cycle.

  • Proficiency in implementing design coordination on multi-disciplinary projects.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage design risk effectively and communicate it.

  • Knowledge and experience in submarine maintenance and/or design in the nuclear industry is beneficial.


  • Due to the nature of this role the successful candidate will require Security clearance. To gain this they will be required to be a Sole UK national, Hybrid working from home/Assystem Office
