Full Job Description

As an Internal Business Development Manager (BDM) specialising in flat roofing within the liquid roofing industry, you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth by capitalising on leads generated through marketing efforts.

Your primary responsibility will be to nurture and convert leads into sales opportunities, leveraging your technical knowledge of liquid roofing to provide tailored solutions to clients. Additionally, you will handle inbound calls, proactively approach Glenigan to uncover hidden leads, and be responsible for logging enquiries on our CRM system (Dynamics). Cold calling is a requirement, thus a good level of communication skills is essential.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead Management: Efficiently manage and prioritise incoming leads generated by marketing campaigns, including enquiries received via inbound calls, while proactively seeking hidden leads through Glenigan, ensuring timely follow-up and engagement.

· Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, understanding their needs and requirements to offer suitable liquid roofing solutions.

· Technical Consultation: Utilise your technical expertise in liquid roofing to provide in-depth consultations to clients, addressing their concerns and queries effectively.

· Solution Presentation: Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to prospective clients, showcasing the benefits and features of our liquid roofing products and services.

· Inbound Call Handling: Professionally handle inbound calls from prospective clients, providing information, answering queries, and directing calls as necessary.

· Cold Calling: Conduct proactive cold calling to generate leads and opportunities, engaging with potential clients to identify their needs and introduce our liquid roofing solutions.

· CRM Management: Log all enquiries, leads, and interactions with clients into our CRM system (Dynamics), ensuring accuracy and completeness of data.

· CPD Coordination: Liaise with the National Specification Manager (NSM) to coordinate and book Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions for architects, specifiers, and other relevant professionals.

· Pipeline Management: Maintain an organised pipeline of leads, opportunities, and deals through CRM software, tracking progress and updating information regularly.

· Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the marketing team to align strategies and initiatives, providing feedback on lead quality and market insights for continuous improvement.

· Market Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments, leveraging this knowledge to identify new business opportunities and strategies.

· Goal Achievement: Work towards achieving monthly and quarterly sales targets, consistently striving to exceed expectations and contribute to the overall growth of the business.

· Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, lead conversion rates, and market trends to management, offering insights and recommendations for future strategies.

· Utilise LinkedIn to identify, connect and contact potential leads within target sectors

· Bachelor's degree or relevant industry experience.

· Proven experience in business development or sales within the construction or roofing industry, with a focus on liquid roofing preferred.

· Strong technical knowledge of liquid roofing systems, application methods, and industry standards.

· Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical information clearly and persuasively.

· Results-driven mindset with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.

· Proficiency in CRM software, specifically Dynamics, and Microsoft Office suite.

· Self-motivated and proactive, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for continuous learning and improvement.,

  • Permanent contract, Monday-Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm, and Friday 8:30am to 3:00pm.

  • 23 days annual leave, plus bank holidays. Increasing after 2 years' service by one day per

    Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
