Home Based with 1-2 days a month in Southampton, Store Support Office. Plus optional working from Kingfisher's London Paddington Office as required.

The Key Account Manager position sits within the B&Q Marketplace function. Launched in March 2022, we've already added over 500,000 products from third party sellers to B&Q's diy.com ecommerce channel and app, nearly tripled the products available, and rocket boosted our sales. What's the job?

As a Key Account Manager work with your merchants to drive profitable growth on B&Q Marketplace. Support them by identifying and delivering sales opportunities at the right time and with the right tools at every stage on their growth journey on B&Q. These growth drivers will include, securing the best merchant assortment, encouraging merchants to enhance content quality, increasing product visibility with promotions, and providing insight back to your merchants to support future growth. Cultivate long term merchant relationships that accelerate their engagement and investment, eventually making B&Q their first-choice marketplace.

In addition to your account management responsibilities, you will also lead the development and deployment of one or more Merchant Growth Tools. Once live, these tools are used by all our account managers to enhance merchant performance. As a subject matter expert, you will guide the internal business teams towards the same goal and ensure that these tools deliver their ambitions and are flawlessly deployed. You will also support your Category Development Manager by providing strategic planning for select marketplace subcategories., · Individual strategy & direction for approximately 35 Key Accounts (our largest merchants).

· Ownership for creating, delivering, and enhancing 1-2 Merchant Growth Tools in the deployment roadmap.

· Directing and driving subcategory strategy in 1-2 key areas for 3rd party products/range.

· Proven experience delivering in a marketplace environment, e-commerce trading, digital platform or similar.

· In depth knowledge of e-commerce sales drivers.

· Previous experience in a scale up business is a plus.

Skillset

· Excellent merchant management and problem-solving skills with clear logical thinking.

· Professional experience negotiating with sellers/suppliers and influencing internal and external stakeholders.

· Able to deliver change and drive success against target.

· Strong business judgment backed by analytical mindset and comfortable generating and evaluating various forecasts, metrics, and analyses.

· Experience growing online sales, marketing, activating categories and driving traffic via merchandising/content.

· Extremely self-motivated and proactive with constant can-do attitude.

· Persuasive written, verbal communication, and presentation skills with ability to present up to Director level.

· Above all, you should possess a passion for e-commerce, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment.
