Full Job Description
The role of a Lead Expeditor is crucial in the management of supply chains, especially in large-scale projects like this €multibillion Petrochemical EPC project. The position involves overseeing the timely delivery of purchase orders, a task that is vital for maintaining project schedules and adhering to purchase order terms. Based in the Reading office, the Lead Expeditor will play a key role in ensuring that all materials and goods are procured and delivered efficiently, supporting the project's success over its duration. - Responsible for coordinating all aspects of desk and field expediting as determined by project strategy, processes and procedures
- Ensure personnel carry out expediting activities have a clear understanding of processes and procedures
- Handle and monitor the more challenging and complex packages &/or suppliers and identify delivery improvement opportunities by details analysis of supplier project schedules
- Establish and update the project status report (PSR) in line with project / client required on site dates and current / estimate lead times, notifying any delays to the project manager
- Establish and chair regular PSR meetings with client, procurement, engineering and/or project management personnel to ensure dates for pre-order deliverables are being maintained
- Establishes priorities and reviews the more difficult and complex aspects of the expediting workload
Experience working within the Petrochemical and / or Onshore Oil & Gas industry - Substantial expediting experience demonstrating results
- Detailed knowledge of Suppliers, Manufacturing Schedules and Expediting
- Detailed knowledge of terms and conditions of purchase/supplier obligations
- Previous experience in a similar level role
- Previous use of ERP's such as Maximo, Oracle, SAP
- Broad knowledge of Suppliers
