Full Job Description

As a Learning & Development Manager, you will relish the opportunity to play a pivotal role in establishing the L&D function aimed at supporting development across all career paths and stages within the organization. You will work closely with the Head of L&D to design and implement a learning and development strategy aligned with our organizational goals.

As our next Learning & Development Manager, you'll act as a senior L&D business partner to a busy delivery business unit, ensuring that development solutions are project-managed within the L&D team and support our business objectives of growth. Also, deputise for the Head of L&D as and when required

Key Responsibilities:

Learning and Development Strategy: Collaborate with the Head of L&D to design and implement a comprehensive learning and development strategy that supports organizational objectives.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with senior stakeholders across the organization to understand development needs and implement training and development systems and solutions.

Project Management: Project manage development solutions within the L&D team, ensuring alignment with business objectives and growth plans. Utilize industry-standard processes for project delivery.

Content Development: Develop inspiring and engaging learning content and solutions that cater to diverse learner needs.

Learning Events: Lead the commissioning and/or delivery of learning events, conduct learning needs and skills assessments, and help develop competency frameworks.

Learning Platform Maintenance: Develop and maintain the learning platform and training tools, ensuring active adoption by stakeholders.

Learner Journeys: Work with key stakeholders to develop learner journeys that inspire continuous learning and growth.

Progress Reporting: Provide regular reports on progress towards key metrics, utilizing a keen understanding of ROI and identifying trends that impact the business.

Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI): Promote and embed EDI principles in all Academy work, fostering a fair and inclusive workplace.

Project Support: Provide project support to new L&D projects, demonstrating attention to detail and ensuring compliance with Roke's policies and procedures.

  • Relevant qualification or 3+ experience in a senior L&D role.

  • Excellent collaboration and stakeholder engagement

  • Using digital tools to create flexible and innovative learning programmes

  • Good understanding of learning theories

  • Flexible and approachable

  • Woking in Defence / Engineering sectors preferred
