Full Job Description

We are looking for a post-CCT candidate with extensive research experience who is looking to develop their research portfolio through a two year 5 PA senior research fellow post (consultant level) for research and development based at Heartlands Hospital with duties across sites within UHB.

This post has the following primary objectives:

1.Establish a sustainable research programme with ongoing income stream. Suitable fields of research would include, but are not limited to, vaccine studies and genetic studies

2.Support ongoing and future research within the paediatric and neonatal departments by supporting existing PIs and helping with scanning for funding sources and with writing grant applications

3.Support supervision of the existing paediatric research nursing and administration team, and its expansion

4.Support the development and funding of research fellow posts through RCPCH and other sources

5.Promote research awareness in the department by training medical, nursing and other staff and encouraging their development of and participation in research, and presentation and publication of research findings

6.Promote participation with regional, national and international research networks

7.Develop personal research career to be competitive for application for senior lecturer post or similar academic role
