Full Job Description

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): assisting with international rights for adult and children's fiction and non-fiction; creating agency marketing material; scheduling and attending book fairs; royalty and contract processing; database inputting; responsibility for agency media in relation to international rights; handling international publicity for authors; liaising with our co-agented territories and, if experience deems it appropriate, directly with some of our international publishers; general office duties.

    Madeleine Milburn Ltd is looking for an energetic, creative and highly-motivated Rights Executive to join the existing team of Valentina Paulmichl (Rights Manager) and Hannah Kettles (Rights Executive).


  • This crucial role will be best suited for someone with between one and two years' experience within the industry, most of which will be in international rights. They will also have a demonstrable desire to progress within international rights at the agency. They should have a proven track record of administrative excellence, be a voracious reader, and have a keen interest in the international book market. Languages are beneficial but not essential.

    As part of an ambitious team your role will demand a sense of urgency coupled with an aptitude for calm, an articulate phone and writing style, a desire to learn and to initiate, and outstanding organisational and time management skills., This crucial role will be best suited for someone with between one and two years' experience within the industry, most of which will be in international rights.
