Full Job Description

Ready to make your mark in delivering major highway projects whilst providing a positive contribution to Wiltshire's economic and environmental future? Join our Major Highway Projects Team to help shape the future of transportation and infrastructure in Wiltshire.

Enjoy a dynamic, collaborative work environment focused on innovation and continuous improvement across a broad portfolio of projects. Professional development opportunities await, along with the chance to make a real impact on the lives of businesses, residents, and communities.

Our service leads multi-million-pound projects that directly impact businesses, residents, and the local environment.

We take pride in promoting and delivering major infrastructure investment schemes like the A350 Chippenham Bypass, and the Salisbury Station Forecourt enhancements, shaping transportation and connectivity in Wiltshire and beyond. Collaborating closely with external partners, we strive to ensure innovation and added value every step of the way.

As a key team member, you'll be the Client lead on major schemes which are often very complex and potentially contentious, bringing innovative solutions and approaches. Your extensive technical knowledge and expertise in the fields of highways, structures, geo-technical, environmental, drainage and civil engineering will ensure safety, efficiency, and environmental sustainability in all our projects. You will lead projects from the early concept and business case development stages, through public consultation, design development, procurement and into on-site delivery.

Qualifications for this role include being a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (C. Eng. MICE) or having equivalent experience, along with a degree in Civil Engineering or related field. You should have ten years' experience in civil engineering or highways, with strong leadership skills.

Wiltshire Council is a friendly, welcoming place to work, with a 'One Council' ethos. That's why we focus on getting the things that matter to our people right.
