Full Job Description

As Global Manufacturing Engineering - Final Assembly Technology Lead you will be responsible for the Planning, Delivery and Launch of all Processes Tooling and Facilities in support of JLR's Re-imagine cycle plan. You will be working closely with the wider Manufacturing and Product Engineering teams in ensuring compatible product and industrialisation plans are in place to support JLR's longer term growth.,

  • Planning and co-ordination of all project activities within a given Platform/architecture

  • Leading a multi-discipline team including Process, Facilities, and VCATS to deliver projects under pressure of deadlines

  • Leading the creation of detailed Process and Facility timing plans in line with manufacturing launch strategies that are integrated with interfacing stakeholder's plans

  • Leading supplier selection and vendor management activities with JLR Non-production Procurement team

  • Create and maintain detailed cost breakdowns for new product introductions ensuring alignment to business plan forecasts

  • Achieve Equipment Capability targets for all new & modified facilities, including OEE targets

  • Allocating and balancing workload amongst a large team through setting and monitoring team objectives

  • Manage and resolving complex technical issues surrounding Manufacturing and Product feasibility issues through extensive cross functional collaboration

  • Ensure achievement of Capability of all processes and equipment, including Dimensional targets to enable robust delivery of Best-in-class vehicle quality targets

  • Ensure application of Lean Manufacturing principles are embedded within the wider team's

  • Support development of future Bill of Process Requirements through robust lessons learnt deployment and ensuring Bill of process compliance is delivered through Vehicle development phases

  • Be aware of any Local and Government Legislation requirements and ensure that all operations are compliant, including H&S and ergonomics

  • Drive ongoing continuous improvement to the functional processes and procedures through actively leading Business improvement initiatives within cross functional teams

    Proven Project Management Experience of major facility installation contracts

  • Extensive Knowledge of all Global Manufacturing Engineering Technologies and Processes throughout the full PCDS cycle

  • Have an understanding and experience of working in an Agile environment

  • In depth Project and Budgetary Management Experience

  • Proven track record of delivering facility installations within a Manufacturing Environment on concurrent projects

  • Ability to set individual and team objectives and measure performance against them

  • Degree qualified or equivalent in relevant Engineering discipline

  • Candidate must have a record of proactive delivery of multi-million pound projects and commitment to meeting deadlines

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work and manage teams within a matrix organisation

  • Commitment and personal circumstances must facilitate the need to spend extended periods in International locations supporting or managing Product and Facility launch activities
