Full Job Description

As we continue to grow in size, scale and complexity, we are looking for an experienced Manager to join our Financial Control team as we build the Finance function of the future.

Reporting to the Head of Technical Accounting responsible for IFRS Accounting Policy, this newly created role will be a 'hybrid' of technical accounting and financial reporting, with responsibilities for providing accounting advice globally to across all functions, producing financial reporting information on challenging accounting topics and supporting the preparation and review of Checkout.com's financial statements.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, possess strong technical skills, have meticulous attention to detail, always act with integrity and appreciate the range of expertise required to produce high quality financial information.

How you'll make an impact

  • Provide accounting advice on a range of IFRS topics including revenue, software capitalisation, financial instruments, leases and impairment.

  • Produce and maintain financial information pertaining to complex topics including share-based payments, expected credit losses and software intangible assets.

  • Contribute to the preparation of annual financial statements including the statements and notes structure, ensuring completeness of disclosures under IFRS and assisting in responding to audit queries.

  • Assist in maintaining and improving accounting policy guidance.

  • Review of new and amended IFRS standards and assessment of their potential effects on Checkout.com and its financial statements.

  • Analyse peer financial information to assess for comparability of financial reporting and accounting policies within the payments industry.

    Professionally qualified accountant (CA / ACA / ACCA or equivalent) with 2-5 years post-qualification experience.

  • Experience in the preparation, review or audit of financial statements prepared under IFRS.

  • Experience in technical accounting analysis such as transaction analysis, producing memos in response to issues or audit queries, or policy writing.

  • Ability to visualise, analyse and articulate new transaction structures such as contracts tailored for the particular needs of clients or suppliers.

  • Excellent communication skills, in particular being able to simplify complex technical accounting requirements into more intuitive and understandable guidance for non-accountants.

  • Strong written and numerical skills.
