Mental Capacity Assessor, Learning Disability Liaison Nurse

Lead and support acute trust colleagues to liaise and collaborate with other services and agencies. Support people with learning disability by carrying out devolved MCA considerations. This will involve the completion of capacity assessments and best interests considerations on behalf of the relevant decision maker. The decision maker will retain responsibility for the determination of capacity / best interests with the post holder responsible for the assessment. Actively assist people with learning disabilities, as well as their carers when accessing diagnostics in the acute setting. Provide support and advice regarding Mental Capacity, Consent, Best Interest and Deprivation of Liberties to the service user, their family / carer and any professionals involved in decision making about their care.
