Full Job Description

We have new opportunities to join us as a Merchandiser in our growing Head Office Merchandising department. Our Merchandiser roles are available on a full-time permanent basis and are based in our York Head Office at Northminster Business Park.

As the company is expanding, both online and our bricks and mortar stores, we are growing the Merchandising team to maximise sales and profit within our range of product groups. You'll be responsible for a group of stores, including managing replenishment across Home Shopping channels with the support from an aligned Assistant Merchandiser.

Your main focus will be to ensure that stock is directed to stores in the right volume, at the right time to optimise profitability. You'll work with key stakeholders in the Planning, Buying, Retail Area/Store Management teams to establish that appropriate ranges are planned and traded, whilst suggesting any appropriate actions to maximise the sell thru and profit of product at store level, and Online Home Shopping.

You'll liaise with your designated stores on a monthly basis, by email and phone, in order to check that they have the correct stock package performing sales analysis on a regular basis, contributing suggestions for improvements/changes., Working with an Assistant Merchandiser to maximise performance within your product groups and specific stores, and online.
Data analysis to plan allocations, process and transfer stock, including using our SMART allocation system
Trading product groups to support the buyer, giving weekly feedback on trade results
Planning for new store/refits and pop-up events within your product groups/stores.
Building range plans for the specific products within your area of responsibility.
Range planning of products for specific trading periods (Black Friday, Xmas etc)
Analysis of required volumes and delivery dates for in season and continuity products.
Assist with Retail queries and provide analysis on your stores.
Generate and issue precise sales information and summaries across the business.
Undertake quarterly store visits to understand stock positions and gather feedback.

You'll join a friendly, collaborative growing team that operates in Merchandisers and Assistant Merchandiser pairings, all reporting into the Merchandising Manager. To succeed as an Merchandiser you'll need a good head for numbers, strong analytical and excel skills along with a love of retail and a passion for getting results!, Analytical and highly numerate, with strong attention to detail
Intermediate or advanced MS Excel skills
Ideally you will have previous experience in a merchandising or data analytical role
Excellent Communicator
Strong administration and organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise and re-prioritise easily
Experience of building rapport quickly with customers
Retail experience would be beneficial
