Full Job Description

The NC programmer will generate and optimise NC programs for the range of CNC machines ensuring that products are manufactured in accordance with drawings and other relevant specifications. Review existing production processes and workflows to identify areas that will benefit from changes and improvements to enhance productivity, reduce costs, improve competitiveness and business profitability.

They will also take a supporting role in developing manufacturing processes and people to enable delivery of existing and new products for Trackwork's UK Manufacturing Facility in accordance with appropriate quality, safety and environmental standards, systems and processes., We are an equal opportunities employer.   • Qualifications and Experience Levels

    Essential
  • Time served machinist.

  • Full working knowledge of CNC Milling machines.

  • Educated to BTEC or equivalent qualification in a manufacturing / engineering discipline.

  • Demonstrable experience of Autodesk Fusion 360 CAD / CAM.

  • Programming using Heidenhain control systems.

  • Proven track record in delivering optimised programs.

  • Computer literate with sound working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Access.

  • Able to read and understand engineering drawings.

  • Knowledge and technical understanding of manufacturing processes, components and techniques.


  • Desirable
  • Gantry Mill experience.

  • 'Long product' experience.

  • Product and industry knowledge.

  • REPW drawings.

  • Fagor control systems.

  • Experienced in Lean manufacturing with an ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements., Certificate of Higher Education (preferred)


  • Experience:
  • NC programming: 1 year (required)

    We are now looking to recruit a NC Programmer based at our site in Hetton le Hole, Sunderland.

    The role is 38 hours a week, Monday to Friday lunchtime. Salary is negotiable and will be based on skills and experience.
