Full Job Description

We are seeking a Night Concierge whose focus will be on ensuring the accommodation is safe and secure during overnight hours and building/maintaining positive relationships with Chester House residents., The Night Concierge, as a part of our Accommodation Team, has a primary focus on ensuring that all residents and tenants have a great living experience during their stay with Guy Chester Centre. The main elements to that are community, customer service and facilities. All three aspects are equally important, and the post holder must provide exceptional customer service to maintain the living experience at the highest level possible in line with our mission, values, budgets, and targets. Furthermore, the Night Concierge will provide overnight duty cover dealing with customer service requests, providing an on-site security presence and responding to emergency situations, e.g., fire alarm. Please note, the Night Concierge is required to work weekends only, Friday evening to Monday morning.,

  • Provide overnight waking cover on site and be the first point of contact for Chester House residents

  • Supervise the entry and exit of the building, thus maintaining its security

  • Monitor the CCTV system and undertake regular health and safety patrols of the building and its grounds

  • Ensure all residents and visitors to Chester House feel welcomed and are treated professionally, reflecting the value we place on hospitality and welcome

  • Communicate directly with residents and tenants in dealing with queries and requests

  • Respond to behavioural issues, such as noise complaints, in a calm and respectful manner

  • Manage and distribute keys, post and parcels

  • Take immediate appropriate action in the event of an emergency and respond to medical emergencies with first aid and follow up by making contact with emergency services and the on-call manager.

  • Be fully aware of the Centre's safeguarding, dignity and respect, fire, health and safety and maintenance policies and procedures

  • Any other duties as requested by the line manager

    At least 1 years' experience in a customer-facing / night concierge role

  • Ability to organise and prioritise work and time effectively, paying close attention to detail

  • Experience of working within a team

  • Ability to deal with emergency situations in a measured and appropriate manner

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; a friendly and caring personality

  • Ability to be proactive and work with limited direct supervision, while at the same time recognising when matters need to be referred

  • Understanding of health and safety

  • Willingness to engage in the development of the role

  • IT skills (internet, MS office, use of database software)

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment

  • Willingness to be flexible in work patterns (sometimes at short notice)

    The Guy Chester Centre (GCC) is an income-generating entity within the Methodist Church and is responsible for managing the North Bank Estate in Muswell Hill. The estate was bequeathed to the Methodist Church by Guy Chester in 1947.
