Full Job Description

By attending our event, you will have the chance to meet members of our nursing teams, along with opportunities to ask questions and visit the departments. You will take part in a competitive interview process but will be encouraged to discuss your ambitions and address any questions you may have.

On the day we will showcase key aspects of our services and share some of the amazing work at the Trust to ensure you are supported and valued within your preceptorship/ induction period and future years as a Registered Nurse. Helping you to reach your full potential and feel confident to give the high standards of care to our service users across the Trust.

We have vacancies across our children's ward and within the emergency department and children's assessment units at Dewsbury and Pinderfields hospitals. The units work closely together, and you will have an opportunity to develop experience and skills through an optional rotation programme. At MYTT we provide care to children within both the acute and community settings and there are future opportunities for career progression within the dedicated level 2 HDU unit, children's burn ward and children's community and specialist nurse teams.

We have a dedicated Professional Development and Education Unit (PDEU), who are leading the way nationally with their programme for supporting newly qualified nurses to make the transition from students to registered nurses. Furthermore, our Paediatric education team are there every step of the way to ensure you succeed and achieve in your career with MYTT. The Trust has been awarded the National Preceptorship Quality Mark for Nursing in 2024 along with several national and local awards, all in recognition of the work we do to improve the experience of nurses at MYTT., We provide care and support to over a million people in Wakefield and Kirklees in their homes, community settings and across our three hospital sites at Pontefract, Dewsbury and Pinderfields (Wakefield).
