Full Job Description

You'll design and administer learning and development initiatives, aligned to the Royal Mail performance management process, to enable the development and capability of managers so that they can encourage high performance and proactively deal with performance improvement.

You'll regularly facilitate interactive behaviour and skills-based workshops to support managers by giving them the tools they need to perform their roles and key performance management objectives. You will collate and analyse performance data to evaluate the effectiveness of learning solutions (using recognised learning evaluation models).

You'll provide advice and guidance on how learning solutions support the MyPerformance management framework and the Performance Improvement Process (PIP), to encourage and maintain a "Best Practice" culture that always strives to find ways to improve performance, change mindset, evaluate courses and the impact on learners.

This role is orientated towards performance management development, facilitation, coaching and evaluation. To be successful in this role, you'll demonstrate the following skills and experience,

  • Experienced learning facilitator demonstrating interactive learning solutions for both virtual and face to face delivery.

  • Excellent communication skills, teamwork and be outcome focused.

  • Strong workshop design skills including design of content and be experienced in running break outs and activities.

  • Proven stakeholder management experience.

  • An independent thinking and a proactive approach to exploring and developing key learning needs.


  • Experience
    Experience in a similar role is essential and you should have knowledge of performance management models and be:
  • Proficient in programme design and management for in-person, virtual and on demand formats.

  • Possess excellent virtual and in-person workshop delivery/facilitation skills.

  • Previous learning & development in large organisations including management training.

    Salary from £45,034 to £48,680 with guaranteed pay progression, company car provided, annual bonus potential, company pension scheme with highly competitive contribution rates and generous annual leave offering of 25 days, plus bank holidays.

    Location: Nationwide. This is a hybrid working role with national travel. You will be required to frequently travel across the Royal Mail network with a base location of your nearest Royal Mail business location.

    Because this role requires you to travel, Royal Mail will pay a £1,500 annual car allowance if you elect an electric car from our salary sacrifice car scheme.
