About The Role Morrison Energy Services is recruiting for a M&E Construction Manager (Pre-Contract) to join our Electricity Transmission division, based in Nottingham , overseeing the development of delivery solutions on tendering opportunities for nationwide projects.

Our clients are electrical transmission companies with diversified operations in Infrastructure Project Development, EPC Projects, and refurbishment of existing high voltage infrastructure.

You will be expected to support on multiple disciplines mechanical and electrical engineering, instrumentation systems, telecommunications, quality assurance and control processes, and health and safety.

Where the needs of the business dictate, you will be expected to support the wider construction team in delivering live projects.

As a M&E Construction Manager (Pre-Contract) your duties & responsibilities will be :

  • Oversee, manage, and support the development of construction delivery options on new projects to ensure the safe and efficient constructability of proposed solutions.

  • Where the needs of the business dictate, work within the Electrical Transmission business unit delivering Capital Projects, coordinate the execution of projects for the company on behalf of National Grid, SSE and Private Enterprise Clients.

  • Manage the construction team resources and ensure appropriate training and authorisations.

  • Ensure requisite specialist roles and authorised personnel are available during project delivery in line with programme requirements.

  • Set objectives with staff and by personal example ensure full compliance with health, safety, environment, and employment policies.

  • Ensure implementation of construction methodologies that are in line with latest industry legislation, guidance, and best practice.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Construction Phase, Contract and Project Quality Plans.

  • Ensure that all safety and environmental risks are adequately identified in the development of proposed delivery solutions.

  • Identify all permits and licences likely to be required for proposed delivery solutions.

  • Seek and implement improvements to the company's processes.

    Full driving licence and willingness to travel.

  • Experience in construction management delivering capital projects.

  • Sound experience in delivering civil engineering construction projects.

  • Experience in the development of construction methodologies for new projects.

  • Have a good knowledge of Temporary Works including the BS5975 : 2019.

  • Construction experience within the electrical transmission industry is essential.

  • A working knowledge of National Grid Technical Specifications (TSs) and Supplier Requirements (SRs) is essential.

  • Be able to draft Microsoft programmes that include plant and resource requirements for each activity.

  • Excellent relationship management skills.

  • Strong presentation skills.

  • Strong communicator with ability to develop and work within collaborative internal and client relationships.

  • Construction or Project Management qualification would be an advantage.

  • Related industry discipline, formal Civil or Electrical qualification an advantage.

  • SMSTS.

  • CSCS black card preferred.
