The Role: Principal, Communications EU/UK

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Principal to lead our efforts in shaping public opinion and driving positive coverage for Gemini across Europe and the United Kingdom. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in public relations, media relations, and strategic communications, with a passion for the fintech and blockchain industries. In this role, you will lead a small team responsible for developing numerous deliverables that will bring the Gemini story to the world, including blog posts, bylined articles, messaging documents, and talking points. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and activate a public relations strategy to shape public opinion of Gemini across Europe and the UK. Engage directly and build relationships with relevant media publications in the region, as well engaging with communities, policymakers, key influencers and others to develop the interests of Gemini

  • Lead on any local press office enquiries and work with internal stakeholders to manage any media driving events

  • Responsible for managing PR agencies across Europe and the UK, helping to coordinate their efforts to ensure the best outcome for Gemini

  • Develop Gemini's media relations strategy for Europe and the UK and secure regular positive coverage in top tier media outlets

  • Be the main point of contact for all external communications across Europe both internally within the business and externally

  • Secure relevant speaking engagements and opportunities to be seen for company spokespeople

  • Prepare communications materials including company announcements, talking points, media statements, speaker submissions, pitches and briefing materials

  • Monitor, analyze and communicate Europe's PR results on a regular basis

  • Develop, mentor and expand Gemini's European based spokespeople, including building out key strategic messaging aligned to Gemini's mission across Europe

    University degree preferred, along with 10+ years of proven experience leading and executing communications programs and initiatives

  • Experience working with the financial services landscape, with crypto or Web3 experience preferred

  • Highly proactive, resilient, determined and results driven, with a desire to work in a forward thinking, fast paced environment

  • Outstanding copywriting and confident proofreading skills required

  • Experience working with a geographically dispersed workforce and managing complex communications challenges

  • Experience managing crisis communications

  • Experience working directly with executives to enhance spokesperson presence, deliver strong messaging and improve media presentation skills

  • Experience leading, mentoring and scaling communications teams

  • Knowledgeable and passionate about the crypto industry
