Principal Engineer - AWS

We are an EasyHiring recruiting company that is looking for candidates for our partners for the position of Principal Engineer - AWS in Kensal Green for work in Osterley.

What you'll do:

• Serve as a technical role model, leading innovative and continuous improvement initiatives across distributed software systems.


• Guide significant project discussions, emphasising empowerment and transparency, while focusing on strategic long-term organisational goals.


• Provide mentorship by engaging in technical decision-making processes, conducting code reviews, and ensuring quality assurance.


• Drive collaboration and network across teams to foster discussions on technical synergies and integration, such as with microservices.


• Advocate for and implement distributed architecture and best practices in software engineering, contributing to the Architecture Advisory Forum and Architecture Decision Records.


• Participate actively in the work intake process, delivering early high-level guidance on project complexity, feasibility, level of effort, and architectural impact.


• Perform Proof of Concept work to anticipate and mitigate future project risks, while ensuring that opportunities are available to all team members.


• Engage in hands-on development, demonstrating best practices in coding and architecture, and keeping your technical skills sharp and up-to-date.
  
  Extensive experience as a software architect and developer across diverse software stacks, with a proven track record of providing technological leadership.


• 3+ years of solid hands-on experience with creating, testing, and operating serverless AWS solutions. Ideally, in highly complex environments and within an enterprise context.


• Independent problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide support and direction to the team.


• A proactive and relentless approach to improve processes and systems.


• Exceptional command of the English language, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• A history of sharing knowledge, such as published blog posts or contributions to open source projects, is highly regarded.


• Prior experience in the Media industry is beneficial, but not mandatory.

Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There are also plenty of bike shelters and showers.
