Full Job Description

· Prepare, set up, maintain and operate a range of sheet fed litho printing presses and related software.

· Carry out ink mixing and colour matching.

· Preparing and loading paper stocks, supporting management of stock and goods-in/goods-out areas.

· Inspecting print run proofs and making adjustments to meet quality requirements and ensure conformance to correct specification.

· Fork Lift experience and qualification desirable. Training will be provided.

· Use the company's MIS for print management of all jobs and maintain time and production records.

· Carry out quality checks and ensure the company quality procedures are adhered to, using own initiative to ensure quality and specification conformance.

· Carry out day to day equipment and press maintenance to the highest level for optimum performance.

· Adhere to health & safety standards and keep work spaces and machines clean and tidy, ensuring that the working environment is safe and efficient.

· Help & support team members at all times, contributing to general problem solving, fault finding in all areas within print production.

· Liaise with production manager, team members and other department staff, as necessary, in order ensure operational compliance and efficient and lean production procedures.

· Active involvement in staff training and development as required.

· To be able to work alone using own initiative and contributing to the process of continually improving work methods and techniques.

· General assistance in the factory will be expected in day to day duties.

Experience and knowledge of the print industry and operating litho printing presses is essential. Further training and mentoring will be provided for the right candidate.

Candidates should have a clear understanding of the skills required and be able to demonstrate how they can carry out the main duties of the role.

· The ideal candidate will have good knowledge and interest in the printing industry.

· Good understanding and experience of print processes and quality conformance is desirable.

· Flexible approach to working hours and be able to work overtime and shift work (we currently operate double day shift patterns, Monday to Friday) is essential.

· Skills to work accurately and methodically, with high standards and attention to detail.

· Good understanding of health and safety.

· Be able to think critically - using logic and reasoning to identify solutions and alternative approaches to problems.

· Be a good team player and able to adapt to different situations.

· Be hard working and conscientious, punctual and reliable.

· Possess a positive attitude, with drive and enthusiasm to learn and improve.

· Be able to effectively manage own workload with the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

· Possess initiative, flexible approach with a positive attitude.

· Must have a confident, personable and professional manner.
