Full Job Description
We are a London and Hampshire based creative furniture company designing and manufacturing commercial furniture within the UK. We are currently a team of 50 with ambitious growth plans.
Rawside design and manufacture high quality furniture for the contract market and are currently in the process of launching a new B2C furniture brand. Most of our customers are within the UK but we have recently completed a number of successful projects in Europe and expect to expand these markets. Our environmental credentials are a key part of our business and having recently been certified as a BCorp business we are keen to improve our positive impact on the environment, our community and our team.
We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic technical product designer. You must be self-motivated, have an excellent attention to detail have a passion for furniture design and a desire to see your designs evolve from concept to fully manufactured items.
Your role will include the production of CAD drawings from Pre-sale customer brief, Sales order or new Products and the transfer of these to CNC drawings and then to CAD/CAM production machinery. You will be working under the direction of our Design Director and the design team (currently a team of 5). Working closely with the Production Manager and the shop floor will also be required.
- Proficient in Solidworks CAD/Cam and ideally a knowledge of SWood
- Technical qualifications and experience related to designing wood and metal furniture items
- Ability to transfer specifications from drawings to CNC production machinery
- Excellent communicator at all levels, this will include colleagues and customers
- High attention to detail
- Good interpersonal skills to create effective working relationships
- Ability and desire to learn new skills and software
- Flexible and adaptable attitude
- Driven to exceed KPIs and deadlines
- Hard working with a "can do" attitude
- Minimum of 2 year's experience in wood/metal furniture design and/or case goods
