Full Job Description

New Product Development: This role requires the customer driven innovation, development and continuous improvement of Nu-Heat's products, systems and services, helping to keep the company's competitive edge in the market and supporting our sustainability goals. You will lead your own projects from initial evaluation and creation through to the product launch, working in conjunction with all parts of the business and team to achieve a high quality, successful commercial and technical outcome and right first time.

Quality Control: It is essential that monitoring internal and external customer product feedback to prioritise improvement initiatives that will have the biggest impact or benefit to the business and customer. You will drive continuous improvement by resolving product issues by working with the wider business as well as our supply partners to create and implement corrective actions

  • Key Responsibilities & Activities

    New Product and Project Management
  • Proactively contribute to all team project work as defined by the Product Development strategy and business needs as required to increase product quality, company profitability and efficiency.

  • Be responsible for the planning, management and coordination of your own projects, active liaison to create pull with all stakeholders

  • Measuring and reporting on project success by acting on internal and external customer feedback

  • Supporting team members with their projects where required.

  • Create and maintain momentum and pace around projects and prioritise workload to achieve deadlines.

  • Engage with the supply chain in order to manage product quality, ensuring issues are rectified at source, whilst fostering good working relationships.

  • Assist with product training across all teams as required

  • Work with Purchasing team to rationalise and value-engineer key existing product lines ensuring quality and customer experience remains uncompromised.


  • Manage quality control of product, process and policy
  • Identify and quantify quality control improvement opportunities through customer feedback, internal feedback, data analysis and team feedback.

  • In conjunction with all relevant departments and suppliers, identify and action quality control improvements by implementing preventative and corrective measures, creating contingency plans and provide related training and supporting information

  • Measure and report quality and root cause trends, highlighting weak areas, proposing and implementing improvements

  • Review, analyse and report efficiency improvements and project successes whilst considering the commercial impact and business benefit

  • Take a customer centric approach to all activity which may on occasion require visits to customer sites.

  • Carry out product & performance testing where required

  • Develop policies, supporting documentation and training for the sales and operational teams, improving their ability to correctly fulfil systems


  • Research and Information
  • Using research to keep up to date with the market and current legislation, and in liaison with the wider business, ensuring the right project objectives are pursued to meet the needs of our customers.

  • Be responsible for the product data management of SKUs and systems, controlling all aspects of product records including cost and price data

  • Create business proposals/project scopes for strategic improvement projects

  • Maintain a hands-on approach to ensure that improvements are realistic, practical and effective. This includes updating customer-facing literature such as installation manuals.

  • Generate, proof-read and version control technical literature

  • Participate in the overall development of the company by supporting initiatives as required

  • Identify personal development needs and undertake any necessary training

  • Where applicable, support colleagues in the achievement of their own business objectives

  • Support the company to exceed Vitality Index and carbon targets.

  • Track record of innovating, managing and delivering successful projects

  • Excellent levels of customer service (both internal and external) demonstrated by great communication skills

  • Practical and theoretical understanding of mechanical engineering and plumbing/ HVAC, ideally within the domestic underfloor heating & renewable industry.

  • Confidence to make decisions unilaterally based on data and in line with company policy and strategic goals.

  • Excellent attention to detail, focus on getting it right first time and prioritisation skills

  • Excellent IT skills ideally to include NetSuite, MS365, Adobe Illustrator and InDesign

  • Able to work under own initiative and drive projects forward, as well as supporting others

  • Demonstrable experience of workload management and prioritisation

  • Construction industry and legislation knowledge is an advantage

  • A higher-level qualification such as a degree in an engineering-based field is advantageous
