Product Manager (12 Month Secondment / Maternity Cover)

You will be leading the drive to deliver on a new vision of our product portfolio as we focus on product rationalisation, supporting our customer and our environmental goals. Joining the Cummins Generator Technologies (CGT) Product Team at an exciting time, you will become a key part of our highly supportive team with the opportunity to develop your career as we evolve as a business - powering your potential., In this pivotal role you will be driving the profitability of our products, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Driving to reduce the complexity of the product portfolio,


• Focusing the business on a reduced number of products and investing in those to meet market needs in performance and specification.


• Supporting the development of the functionality of the latest products and the ability to efficiently tailor these products to specific customer needs.


• Ensuring consistency across our global product outputs.


• Scoping enhancement projects and evaluating the business benefit that each deliver,


• Building a global network, leading/developing teams and building relationships inside and outside the business.


• Supporting sales and key account managers across real time customer issues and bids.


• With Marketing, managing stakeholders in the selection of the best programs to advance the portfolio and business.


This role will be based at our Peterborough location, working on a hybrid basis of 2/3 days a week onsite, which can be flexed week to week. With occasional overseas travel required.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Experience within a product management role where configuration of physical products is a key part of the offering.


• A highly collaborative style, with experience of holding a focal point role interacting with colleagues globally and cross functionally.


• Enjoy building relationships and adapting your approach to engaging with individuals to build trust and effectively indirectly manage change and drive results.


• The ability to build customer-centric and segmented solutions combined with a strategic view of maximizing profitability and long-term growth.


• Experience within logistics would also be beneficial, to understand the global challenges faced with manufacturing plants in multiple regions.


• A College, university, or equivalent degree in Marketing, Sales, technical or related subject required.


• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

• £37,600 - £47,000 - depending on experience
