Full Job Description

Take on a new challenge and apply your project management skills and expertise in a delivering new cutting-edge signalling solutions. You'll report to the Regional Director and work alongside and support our existing project directors and/or run specific projects and the client lead on specific remits, working with inclusive and diverse teammates.

The main purpose of this role is directing the teams in the delivery of a successful Project, as allocated by the Operations Director, safely, on time and within budget to the high standard expected of the Client, Alstom, and its stakeholders/partners, both internally & externally.

  • Develop and maintain a professional relationship with the client at all levels throughout the project.

  • Undertake the role of Project Bid Manager on all tenders nominated by the Operation Director.

  • Prepare and ensure continuous compliance with the Alstom Project Risk Management Database.

  • Develop the Project team to meet the programme and milestones.


  • We'll look to you for:
  • Accountable for safety, quality, environmental, business management systems and all contractual responsibilities for allocated projects.

  • Support the Operations Director to achieve budgeted sales & contributions, including any other financial targets.

  • Review on a monthly basis the profit & Loss of the project with the Head of Operations along with Project Managers and ensure the project Contract Month End Sales and Contract Project Reviews are provided to meet the financial deadlines.

  • Preparation and implementation of Alstom Project Quality Management System throughout the project.

  • Preparation and implementation of a project specific Health and Safety Plan to be completed for each project.

  • Ensure the Alstom Project Change Control is implemented.

  • Daily Diary of site activities and events are to be kept for each project.

  • Optimise time and motion of employees to achieve higher productivity enabling lower unit costs.

  • Represent Alstom at senior client meetings.

  • Perform periodic reviews of the project tasks in line with a valued engineering approach.

  • Provide mentoring to members of the Project Management Team, giving a personal commitment by acting as a role model and leading by example.


  • Subject to the Terms & Conditions of your contract, it may be required that some travel and shift pattern changes will be necessary to fully perform some of your duties/activities.

  • To comply with, undertake and promote all relevant Environment, Health & Safety measures, responsibilities, and activities.

  • To implement the prioritizing of all tasks and activities.

  • Degree or Higher National Diploma equivalent qualification is preferred.

  • To gain qualification into a recognised Project Management Institution within 1 year.

  • EHS qualifications such as IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent is highly desirable.

  • Valid Personal Track Safety certification.

  • Association of Project Managers accredited training course.

  • Principle Investigation course/training/qualification is desirable.

  • Risk Management training.

  • Staff management skills.

  • Leadership skills.

  • Extensive experience in leading a large, disparate, multi-disciplinary team.

  • Experience of the management of large multidisciplinary contract to £50m.
