Full Job Description

We're on the hunt for a talented Project Manager to join our Underwriting team working remotely or based in either our Salford Quays, Manchester or Haywards Heath, West Sussex offices.

Here at First Central we have a hybrid working policy so you'll be working primarily from home with trips into the office when needed, but if you would like to come in 5 days a week then that's fine too!

In this role you'll be responsible for managing the successful project delivery of a diverse set of initiatives which contribute directly to the growth of our fast growing business. You will engage with our high performing Pricing and Underwriting experts and collaborate extensively with our technology and data teams to deliver projects which add value for our customers and colleagues.

Core skills we're looking for to succeed in the role:

  • Experience delivering projects focusing on IT & Business

  • Insurance or Financial Services experience, Deliver multiple, concurrent Projects and Business Outcomes with responsibility for all Business and IT change elements.

  • Maintain momentum and direction, delivering to the agreed scope, timeframe and budget with resource planning and accurate estimation treated as fundamental principles.

  • Actively manage project risks, issues and dependencies.

  • Plan and coordinate work with other internal departments to ensure internal resource requirements are understood and the right resources are available when required.

  • Direct the activities of third party providers ensuring delivery to time, quality and budget.

  • Practice a progressive Stakeholder Management approach, building invested relationships where appropriate, employing an agreed engagement & communication plan.

  • Create, control, track and report on project progress through Steering Groups and established Monthly reporting.

  • Adhere to the Company values always and encourage others to do the same.

  • Ensure compliance with company and other relevant standards/regulations always (including TCF).

  • Actively contribute to the Project Management Community of Practice

  • Any other reasonable duties as required.

    Experience in a Pricing & Underwriting setting

  • Software development experience

  • Agile experience ideal but not essential, Demonstrable experience of managing the delivery of diverse and complex concurrent initiatives covering Business and IT change

  • Experience of engaging and managing third parties.

  • Experience of working within an FCA regulated industry, ideally within Financial Services or Insurance.

  • Experience of working with Pricing and Underwriting teams is an advantage

  • Proven experience of all stages of the project delivery and software development lifecycle including in an agile environment.
