Full Job Description

We are now looking for a Project Operations Manager to manage the DMP office in the School of Economics at Nottingham.

The purpose of the role is to provide administrative leadership and management to ensure the effective operation of a small contact centre that recruits survey participants from the Chief Financial Officers of small, medium and large UK businesses. Line managing a flexible team of around 20 part-time staff, the role holder will, in consultation with the Principal Investigator, work independently to deliver strategic resource and operational planning, financial administration, quality assurance and regulatory compliance consistent with the requirements of the project.

You will have significant operational management and business planning skills, including experience of leading and motivating a team. Your excellent communication skills, proven analytical and problem-solving capability and excellent customer relationship skills will enable you to collaborate effectively with both internal and external colleagues and teams. The role requires regular contact with colleagues at the Bank of England.

An eye for detail, financial management skills, a flexible approach to working and competent IT skills are essential for the role, which will also require you to interpret and manipulate data, and produce graphs and other presentation formats using advanced Excel techniques. Experience of website content editing and publication would be an advantage, as you will be responsible for maintaining the project website (www.decsionmakerpanel.co.uk).

As this full-time role (36.25 hours per week) is grant-funded, it is available on a fixed term contract until 19 March 2026 when the current grant is due for renewal. Job share arrangements may be considered.

Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.
