Purchase Ledger Clerk

A new job role is now available for an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to join our accounts team in head office at our Middlesbrough branch as a purchase ledger, the position is full time on a temporary contract (12 months - maternity cover). Our working hours are 8.30 - 5.30 Monday to Friday.

The right candidate will be a person who can take responsibilities for their own supplier accounts reconciling statements, releasing payments, and dealing with queries. The office is a fast-paced environment overseeing the accounts for over 30 main sites and 200+ stores management sites nationwide. Full training will be provided on our bespoke software.

Duties and responsibilities to include but not limited to:-

• Accurate and timely payment of invoices


• Be organised with administration and have the ability to process large volumes of invoices


• Possess a strong work ethic and sense of urgency


• Building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues and suppliers


• Ensuring all tasks are completed and relevant deadlines are met by the team


• Resolving invoice/payment queries smoothly and efficiently.


• Reconciling accounts monthly for payments


• Good telephone communication skills essential


• Able to use different programmes on computers


• Other general office duties


• Experience in accounts is preferable but not essential
