Full Job Description

As a permanent Junior/Quantity Surveyor, you will have the opportunity to work on a number of projects across North Wales /cross boarder into England,

  • Preparation of commercial cost and value reporting with detailed end forecasts produced with the Director and Contracts Manager.

  • Preparation and timely submission of Applications for Payment with full supporting documentation in accordance with the contract

  • Procurement of subcontractors and the preparation, administration and management of subcontract agreements

  • Develop and maintain the project risk and opportunity register

  • Oversee contract administration, including change management

  • Production of accurate cost and value forecasts (CVR's)

  • Work closely with the company director to develop accurate and competitive tender submissions.

  • Oversee and produce accurate material take offs from project drawings and liaise with project team.

  • Maintain a high level of communicate and liaison with the project team to manage risk and identify solutions to overcome early warnings and other operational matters.

  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients and other project stakeholders.

  • PK Joinery Ltd specialises in new build projects and timber frame housing projects so ideally, we'd like you have Joinery Timber Frame experience but not essential. You'll need to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills and have a strong attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint is also a must.

    This role will suit an ambitious person with long term goals in the field of quantity surveying, helping to help take our company to the next phase of its evolution., To be considered for this role as Postgraduate /Trainee Quantity Surveyor role you should have the following experience, skills, and attributes:
  • Proven experience of at least 2 years as a Trainee/Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry

  • Hold a relevant industry qualifications in Quantity Surveying, (Level 4 or higher) or similar or working toward Quantity Surveying Degree.

  • Strong people management and relationship building skills.

  • Excellent communication, listening, negotiation and organisational skills.

  • Highly proficient in using all Microsoft packages.

  • Excellent written/numerical skills with a high attention to detail
