Full Job Description

As a Refit Support Group Senior Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. The development of the Babcock T23 Refit Support Group (RSG) team is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Engineer to lead and develop the weapon engineering element within an evolving capability

Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for the maintenance, operation and repair of weapon engineering systems not covered in the vessels' upkeep contracts and the coordination and management of equipment and system test and trials, ensuring that the RSG commitment and responsibility is clearly identified and communicated.

  • Mentor and support weapon engineering team members and provide technical assistance where required

  • Responsible for assuring system and equipment operating competency against agreed procedures

  • Ensure that all maintenance and repair activities are conducted in accordance with the relevant technical reference and where any deviations are identified, to be recorded and reported

  • Ensure any benefits identified by the team are recorded or escalated as required to support benefit targets.

  • Identify improvements in process or procedure and ensure all admin is maintained and configured.


  • This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

  • HNC/HND qualified or equivalent in an engineering specialisation with significant demonstrable experience


  • Security Clearance
    The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
