Full Job Description

The successful candidate will be part of Prescient's Quality Control (QC) Team as a QC Associate within Prescient Business Operations. The QC Team supports our client-facing consultants and internal researchers in consistently delivering high-quality insights while complying with legal and ethical standards. These insights may be delivered in PowerPoint, Word or Excel formats, or via our proprietary, web-based InflexionRx® decision support platform. The QC Team contributes directly to building impactful reports and dynamic outputs that help biopharmaceutical companies develop, launch and market medicines.

The position requires a focused, organised and efficient individual with a passion for grammar, an eye for detail and the ability to explain how something could be improved to better meet the needs of our clients.

The editor will report to a senior member of the QC Team. Candidates able to work from our offices in London or Manchester will be preferred, but applications from candidates based elsewhere in the UK will also be considered., The following are example responsibilities of this position and are, as such, not meant to be exhaustive, nor convey every responsibility that may vary over time, without changing the essence of this position:

  • Editing commercial and technical content (primarily in InflexionRx, PowerPoint, Word and Excel), ensuring inconsistencies and inaccuracies are queried or revised

  • Assisting authors to recognise, understand and resolve errors where appropriate

  • Providing specific and constructive feedback to authors about their work

  • Supporting authors to tell a compelling story with clear implications for the reader

  • Formatting client Word and PowerPoint deliverables in line with Prescient corporate style or, if requested, client style

  • Assisting with the management of project documentation and development of training material

    A bachelor's degree

  • Professional editing, proofreading or writing experience, preferably in a scientific, medical or technical environment

  • Advanced MS Office skills, particularly in PowerPoint, Word and Excel

  • Highly developed organisational and linguistic skills


  • Desired Experience and Skills:
  • A master's degree

  • Previous role(s) with large or boutique consulting firms

  • Experience editing in a web-based environment

  • Translation experience or competence in a foreign language
