Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Finance Manager to join our finance team. In this role you will work directly for the Financial Controller and be responsible for the Group's monthly financial and management accounting, fixed asset accounting, CapEx management and management accounting and reporting.

The role leads a small team of accountants who support the planning processes, maintain a system of financial controls, prepare the statutory accounts for the non-complex entities, and provides financial information to both finance and business colleagues.,

  • Manage and review the monthly accounting for the UK entities by WD4, working with the Group Reporting Manager to ensure that all technical accounting aspects are correctly included.

  • Manage the Assistant Accountant - Fixed Assets to deliver accurate monthly accounting and reporting, and to ensure that the capex process is appropriate and being applied correctly and consistently across the Group.

  • Develop the Group's monthly management accounts for the Heads of Functions and their team leads, to provide accurate, timely and insightful information.

  • Review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations for UK entities, ensuring reconciling items are cleared each quarter.

  • Provision of monthly analytical review of the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow, and preparation of papers for inclusion in the Management Committee/ Board reports

  • Preparation of the plan balance sheet and cashflow, following operational and financial input from the Head of Business & Financial Performance and the operational/functional leads

  • Review of solus statutory accounts for the unaudited UK entities and for the solus accounts of Pinewood Group Limited, and provision of audit information for UK companies

  • Review of information in regulatory returns, e.g. ONS, VAT, CIS, corporation tax and provision of analysis to the Head of Tax & Treasury

    Degree level education or equivalent experience, plus a relevant financial qualification (Such as ACA, CIMA or ACCA)

  • Extensive experience within both financial and management accounting departments (e.g. significant experience PQE).

  • Experience of working within a high-volume workload Finance function.

  • Proven experience in statutory accounts/ external reporting.

  • Strong across all MS Office applications, with at least intermediate Excel skills.

  • Experience of leading a high performing team.

  • Experience of working in Internal audit desirable but not essential.

  • Experience of financial systems implementation/ development desirable but not essential.

  • Worked with MS Dynamics for F&O an advantage.

  • Exposure to Financial systems.

  • Plans ahead, with a proven ability of meeting tight deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.

  • Problem solving capability.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication across a range of stakeholders.
