Full Job Description

As the Senior Manager for Home P&Ls, you'll ensure that there is a clear, well understood and managed pricing strategy across all categories (Broadband / Voice / TV) and brands (BT / EE / Plusnet). You'll also work cross-functionally to ensure this strategy remains competitive and drives the long term ambition of the business. You and your team will expertly understand the market and work with colleagues in BVP to understand our customer base to ensure that the value we offer to customers remains attractive and competitive whilst driving the long term growth ambition (volume & value) across the medium term plan.

As a key leader in the Home team, you'll play a key role in driving the culture within the team, with the aim of creating a world-class work place and a culture where results are delivered and individuals can thrive both personally and professionally.

You'll be a brilliant collaborator and know how to drive change with pace through a large organisation and you'll be flexible in your approach to ensure that business priorities can be met.

The mindset and focus of the collaboration must always be to optimise the total experience for customers and households across all categories - and deliver on the total Consumer P&L.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading a team that sets the pricing strategy, guard rails, market insight and forecasting to ensure that pricing across all Home categories (Broadband, Voice, TV) and brands (EE, BT and Plusnet) are geared to drive the Consumer strategy, realise the ambition in our medium term plan, and remain competitive to drive volume & value outcomes

  • Ensures that pricing is competitive to ensure that in year and medium term P&L and base / volume outcomes are underpinned

  • Drives a robust set of initiatives to harness opportunities and mitigate risk throughout the year

  • Drives a forensic level of understanding of pricing trends that is de-averaged across the segments and audiences within our base, and acquisition and generates actionable insight and plans to ensure our pricing is always delivering for the Consumer ambition

  • Is the lead interface into commercial trading and finance teams on pricing

  • Leads and executes a range of workstreams across cross functional, multi-disciplinary senior teams (eg finance, insights, commercial, pricing, propositions)

  • Takes a lead role in inputting into the overall strategy for Home

  • Manages stakeholder buy in and execution support up to MD level (e.g.: for P&L initiatives)

  • Mentors other Pricing / P&L managers and professionals, helping to improve the team's overall capability and become a world class team

  • Takes a strong interest and accountability for the overall culture of the team with the ambition of creating a world class team where every individual can succeed and grow professionally and personally

    Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • Robust and expert understanding of pricing across Broadband, TV and Voice

  • Ability to communicate with impact and the ability to quickly establish credibility and respect with pan EE teams

  • Ability to motivate and inspire a team of direct reports and large matrix team

  • Have a strong understanding of pricing mechanics and value drivers across the Home categories

  • Have a strong understanding of the external market and a strong analytical skillset

  • Strong category specific experience across Broadband / Voice / TV

  • Experience managing a P&L or initiatives in a scaled business (£m/£bn)

  • Result-driven and a track record of delivering customer and commercial outcomes

  • Strong strategic and commercial skills

  • Strong experience across pricing management, strategy, P&L (eg profit drivers, R&Os), market analysis

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills and experience working in and leading cross-functional matrix teams

  • Relevant experience from the telecoms industry or relevant experience

  • Able to deal with ambiguity, identify resources to implement and determine pragmatic solutions
