Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial responsibility for a portfolio of rail and civil engineering projects throughout the Eastern region including stations enhancements and Access for All projects (AfA).

Business Unit

A busy and fast paced project environment with an expansive portfolio of civils projects underway including a line side rail civils contracts, bridges and structures renewals, large structural installations including new bridges and general civil schemes.

Projects can typically include bridge interventions, upgrades and refurbishments, station work (platforms etc), access for all schemes, structures including bridges and footbridges, line side civils etc., As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible day to day, for:

  • Leading the commercial management of multiple sites on time and to budget.

  • Pricing and ensuring estimates are submitted accurately and on time,

  • Resolving pricing issues with clients

  • Client Liaison

  • Liaison with Site Managers to collate information on day to day remits,

  • Subcontractor management

  • Change management and early warnings

  • Contract administration (NEC/NR forms of contract)

  • CVR's

  • Final accounting.

    To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in a civil engineering environment.

  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management

  • Civil Engineering project experience (rail, station enhancements, bridges, roads, structures, groundworks)

  • Contractual experience with NEC forms of contract

  • Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in a civils contracting environment

  • Rail project experience would be beneficial but by no means essential
