Imagine now needs Senior Specialist Support Workers who will provide support to individuals with a variety of different needs and conditions. This may include learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders, complex behaviour, mental health conditions, and acquired brain injuries, physical disabilities, and neurological impairments, psychiatric and clinical needs. The role of support worker includes an expectation to support individuals with all their daily living requirements including support with personal care. For an initial chat, please call Jen Cottrell on or Donna Irving on ., Senior Specialist Support Workers will take a leading role within the staff team to provide support to individuals with a variety of different needs and conditions which may include mental health conditions, learning disabilities, acquired brain injuries, physical disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders, neurological impairments, psychiatric and clinical needs, complex behaviour and other needs. The level of support will vary according to the agreed level of support required. You will assist people to live as tenants and citizens in the local community; provide personalised support in line with the individual's person-centred plan and their rights, choices and responsibilities.
You will provide a young lady with person centred support so she is able to feel connected to her community, feel safe in a homely environment and receive the care and support she need's in all aspects of her life whilst promoting independence.
The young lady lives in her own bungalow with a staff team on a 2:1 basis 24 hours a day including evenings, weekends, sleep in and waking night duties. She has a diagnosis of severe learning disabilities, Autism and can present with behaviours which challenge. The young lady requires staff to maintain boundaries and keep to a routine which is important to her. The young lady has sensory needs and requires consistent support. She has access to her own mobility car so a driver would be essential. She enjoys Disney, drives out in the car, spending time on her own within her home and spending time with her staff which helps her to feel safe.
At times the young lady does require additional support when she becomes anxious and support with personal care is needed.
The young lady appreciates staff who are fun and not afraid to sing and dance, good sense of humour, calm, friendly, consistent committed to her and are able to maintain boundaries to make her feel safe.
Senior support workers will provide guidance, mentoring/coaching, supervision to specialist support workers as directed by the service manager.
To facilitate and participate in Team meetings and MDT meetings.
To develop relationships with families and professionals.
To devise, review and implement personalised support plans, risk management plans and PBS plans.

    Salary: £27,789.07 (Plus on call requirement £30 per day on a rota basis)
