Senior Wordings Technician (Part-Time, Job-Share and Full-Time)

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to join a team of experienced Senior Wording Technicians, operating within the CUO's reporting line as part of the Technical Underwriting function.

This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren't available full-time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.

What will you be doing?

• Help draft new policy wordings or revise existing wordings in line with underwriting requirements


• Help to review and analyse policy wordings to identify any technical discrepancies, ambiguities or cover gaps, or language incompatible with the clarity required by the Financial Conduct Authority


• Within delegated authority, provide technical support to underwriters and other stakeholders with wording-related queries or concerns


• Collaborate with stakeholders across Underwriting (Market-Facing and Technical), Claims, Legal, and our broker partners to ensure policy wordings are accurate, compliant, and aligned with underwriting and wording governance requirements


• Variously lead and partake in cross-function dialogue in the provision/acceptance and articulation of casualty covers


• Contribute to training content composition and delivery


• Support the strategic wording objectives of the business.
  
  Are you detail-oriented with a background in policy wordings, and do you have experience or knowledge of Casualty underwriting or claims? If so, we would love to hear from you!, Casualty experience in an underwriting and/or claims setting


• Knowledge of insurance policy wordings, including different types of coverage and exclusions; previous experience as a Wordings Technician or similar role within the insurance industry is important


• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve wording-related issues


• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and clarity


• Effective communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders and explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner


• Proficient in the Microsoft 365 environment.
