Full Job Description

The post holder is a line manager/ specialist lead who is accountable for their own professional actions, responsible for leading a team to assess, develop, implement and evaluate patient care for the Post-operative patient and on occasions Oncology and Haematology patients who require a higher level of care., The post holder is required to provide technical/specialist assistance requiring a high degree of dexterity, precision, accuracy and prolonged concentration to patients and medical/surgical staff.

The post holder manages their own workload/ area and works collaboratively with all disciplines to ensure the effective running of the unit.

The post holder is responsible for the deployment, supervision and teaching of staff within the clinical areas and across the Health Board in order to support the Multi-disciplinary team by providing clinical and managerial leadership.

The post holder will supervise the professional work of nursing staff within the unit allocating work effectively considering skill mix, competency and development of staff and patient requirements.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
