If you want the creative freedom to try out new ways of telling stories on social media, then this opportunity to join our social media team is for you? Our team need someone with an in-depth understanding of social media content, who has previous experience working as a social media content creator for a radio, entertainment or lifestyle brand. We're talking about using the algorithms and analytics to inform content decisions. You'll be expected to use trends to align with brand messaging and making it relevant to our specific audience. If you can, and like to make video and memes, then you've come to the right place. You'll be producing content for the BFBS Radio social media channels, delivering live event coverage and coaching people on how to make sure their social media is as good as it can possibly be. You'll also have input into our online social media training courses and have the opportunity to deliver face-to-face workshops. Your Main Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the

  • rest of the social media team to curate an entertaining social media schedule.
  • Work with radio presenters to create content to promote on air features, shows, and the Managing Editor of Network Radio on network show coverage. Work with BFBS Creative and BFBS Radio's podcast producers to create promotional material for podcasts shows. Assist with the day-to-day management of organisation social media profiles. With a primary focus on creating content to engage our audience, promote radio features, shows, podcasts and producing live streams. Regular travel across the UK and overseas to support the social media coverage and content output of live events. Providing coaching and training to colleagues on what good social media looks like by reviewing content which has been shared and identifying improvements. Providing training to students of our social media training programs. This includes hosting workshops and being a social media ambassador for the programs.

  • Identifying trending conversations online and coming up with creative ideas to replicate for our social media channels.
  • Digital content creation such as social media graphics, video production, and photography. Project lead on content productions, from the pre-production stage through to publication and evaluation. Monitor and evaluate data from content to inform future content ideas. Develop and grow BFBS social media accounts. Attend departmental meetings to gain an understanding of the wider business. Carry out any other duties that are commensurate with this position or as reasonably required.

    Essential Criteria: Previous experience working as a social media content creator for a radio, entertainment, or lifestyle brand. Demonstratable experience of managing cross platform campaigns by working collaboratively with different areas of the organisation. Skilled in using content creation software such as Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition), Canva and other mobile editing apps. Previous experience producing live streams on Instagram and TikTok. Proficient in planning and producing social media content for different platforms, to include: Taking effective photos often using a smartphone or camera. Recording and editing videos for social media with a strong understanding of current best practice. Creating digital graphics Desirable Criteria: Experience managing social media for large, branded accounts. A relevant media or digital marketing qualification level 3 or above, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience. Experience

  • providing event coverage on social media. Experience producing live streams on YouTube and Twitch. Experience using project and task management software, such as Asana. Experience of working with the UK Armed Forces.

    Your Key Competencies: Creative mindset, with a passion for creating engaging and captivating social media first content. Up to date on the constantly changing social media platforms. Willing to professionally develop and learn new skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to convey ideas clearly and persuasively. Ability to breakdown complex social media analytics and insights to deliver data-driven decisions for future content.
