Full Job Description

Reporting to the Executive Head Chef, you will be based at the hotel on a Full-Time basis.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Sous Chef with ambition and drive within the Hospitality industry. Our Senior Sous Chef will have a passion for food and the charisma to inspire a team.

You can expect your working day to include the following;

  • Establishing and maintaining excellent interdepartmental relationships with all Heads of Department and key company stakeholders.

  • To build on positive and collaborative relationships within the hotel - we are one team and you will be expected to drive this ethos.

  • To have accountability for the Kitchen function in the absence of the Executive Head Chef, ensuring efficient food production, processing of orders, quality within all food outlets and legal compliance.

  • To prepare dishes to specification with consistency, care and artistic flair.

  • To support, nurture and develop the Kitchen team, focussing on employee engagement, retention and fostering a positive team ethic.

  • To support the Executive Head Chef in the management and control of costs, GP, purchasing, goods receiving and timely updates of records and SOPs.

  • Work in partnership with the Executive Head Chef, develop and produce a consumer-led product worthy of a destination Restaurant!

  • Act with integrity and compliance in the adherence to H&S and Food Hygiene policies and company procedures.

    We are looking for someone who has worked within a commercial kitchen specifically within hotels. Who has the understanding of the responsibilities and scope of the hotel Kitchen function. We are looking for at least 2 years' experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef within hospitality.

  • Experience of working alongside a hotel team to deliver excellent financial returns, operational excellence and team engagement.

  • Ability to manage staff, develop the team and be a true believer in employee collaboration and stakeholder buy-in.

  • High levels of enthusiasm and commitment to follow through on every task undertaken within the Kitchen team.

  • Strong analytical skills and an ability to work with personnel and procurement IT systems.
