Full Job Description

As a member of the Specialist Employment Team, you will improve life opportunities for individuals with neurodiverse conditions, supporting them one-to-one towards their goals in education, training, voluntary work, or paid employment. You will work from our offices, as well as travel to meet individuals in accessible, community locations as well as providing some support virtually to individuals across the UK.

The role will involve…

Developing individual action plans, identifying barriers, assisting with overcoming these barriers, and utilising knowledge of local resources and networks to provide appropriate support. Enabling individuals to grow in confidence, ability, and personal effectiveness, you will deliver a range of interventions to support progression in the following areas:

- Social skills / relationships.
- Using community resources and facilities.
- Self-organisation, motivation, and coping abilities.
- Employability skills and preparation towards voluntary work and / or paid employment.
- Increasing confidence and communication skills with the aim of supporting progression.
- Engagement in education and / or job search activities.

This would be achieved through person-centred support, practical assistance, teaching, advice, role modelling, encouragement, and positive feedback. You will be involved in facilitating job clubs, group activities, linking with education, as well as other objectives depending on an individual's requirements.

Experience in supporting people with additional needs e.g., autism, mental health, and Learning Disabilities, ideally in a similar role.
- Ability to be proactive, self-motivated, and resilient.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and are experienced in communicating outcomes.
- Skilled in working with people at all levels, including jobseekers, professionals, and parents/carers.
- Ability to support individuals in the workplace as a job coach where necessary, provide advocacy, and work effectively with employers.
