RPS is currently seeking to recruit a Structural Investigation Engineer to join our existing team at either the Milton Keynes, London or Birmingham office.

What you'll be doing:

This is an exciting role for an individual looking to progress their career as a Structural Engineer within our industry leading team where we have an excellent reputation, offering a wealth of expertise in all sectors of the built environment. We are offering a broad and varied role within a challenging and rewarding environment where you will primarily be involved in the effective delivery of residential foundation and superstructure projects through to low and medium rise housing and commercial. You will help develop our growing structural investigation service and servicing out clients which are located in London, Milton Keynes and across the Midlands.

Duties Include:

  • Structural Investigation and reporting on a range of building structures from residential to commercial of varying materials and structural form

  • Assist Operations Director / Director in development of structural investigation services

  • Assist Associate Director / Director in management of structural engineering team

  • Independent management of projects / project team

  • Financial responsibility for your own projects

  • Preparation of fee quotations / Invoicing

  • Management of staff and other consultants

  • Working in collaboration with senior stakeholders and clients

  • Site visits and undertake structural surveys, investigation and repair schemes for structures from fires to foundation issues

    To be successful in this role you will most likely have a degree (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering and be chartered with ICE, or IStructE or equivalent or progressing towards chartership., Be experienced in structural investigations and reporting of low-rise to medium rise residential, and ideally tall buildings in a range of materials and structural form

  • Be experienced in the identification, reporting and repair of building defects

  • Be experienced in structural investigation and reporting in relation to building structural safety and ideally 'Building Safety Act'

  • Be experienced in the design of foundations, masonry, concrete including detailing, steel and timber structures to eurocodes

  • Be experienced in the residential market including traditional construction as well as framed structures

  • Ideally be familiar with Tekla software (Tekla designer and Tedds) and AutoCAD/Revit

  • Previous management experience would be advantageous

  • Have the ability to make decisions

  • Be motivated with initiative and comfortable with autonomy with an appetite to drive innovation
